when you wish upon a star

Rings and necklace, all Disney Couture by Asos.

I spent the whole morning listening to Disney songs, like songs from Aladdin, Toy Story, Hercules and, of course, The Lion King! Needless to say that I cried all morning long, without even being ashamed of it. I miss my childhood so much, and since I'm turning 18 next October it will be completely over. I can still watch Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks and Harry Potter and like it as much as I did in the beginning. My favourite movies include, of course, the ones listed above, but also Monsters Incl., Shrek, Cinderella, Snowwhite, The Aristocats, The Great Mouse Detective, Spirit, all Harry Potter movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, UP (!!!!), Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Antz, Dug's Special Mission, Geri's Game, Mulan, Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon, Bee Movie, Shark Tale, The Legend Of Sinbad and of course much, much more. Wow, that were quite a few to say the least! So you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I came across this jewellery collection by Disney a few years ago. I want to have everything! Sadly, they are a little bit on the pricey side so I think I will need to save some more money! I'm a terrible spender and really cannot handle money but oh well haha.

Have you heard about Disney Couture yet? The jewellery seems to be made out of some pretty decent material, do you have any experience with the jewellery?

zara dress

So I thought I should just make a little blog post regarding thiss dress, since I'm absolutely obessed with it and I fell in love with it the instant I saw it hanging in the racks! It's by Zara and it's absolutely beautiful. It feels so soft and silky (duh!) and the colour of it is absolutely gorgeous! I tried it on when I went shopping last Monday but there seemed to be some sort of a production fault to it, and they didn't have it in my size anymore. It was also in a soft baby pink colour, but I think I like this one more! I would combine this with this jersey blazer in pastel pink. It would be absolutely gorgeous, and it isn't even that expensive! I think I'm in love! What do you think about this dress? Do you have any favourite piece by Zara? I absolutely adore their Spring/Summer 2012 collection!

OPI do you lilac it?

I am currently obsessed with pastel colours. I think they are lovely for spring, so I think it's needless to say that I can't wait for spring to come! I want the sun to shine so that everyone gets happier again, I want to leave the house without having to wear a huge fluffy coat and having to hide my face in my scarf, I want to hear the sound of birds when I wake up, I want to have a nice and cute little picnick with my boyfriend. So when I saw this nailpolish, it immediately reminded me of spring and lovely lavender fields in France!
Okay, so I have to admit that this is only my second nailpolish by OPI. I bought my first one, Last friday night by the Katy Perry collection, back in the Christmas break with money I got for Christmas. I really liked the quality of it back then, but I really couldn't justify spending €14 on just a nailpolish.
Being a shopaholic like I am, you can imagina that I really couldn't resist getting this one when I saw it in the shop. I took it and immediately rushed to the till, feeling a little bit guilty as I took the money out of my wallet and gave it to the lady, but the guiltiness disappeared as soon as I applied it on my nails.
It's such a lovely lavender-ish colour, perfect for spring! It's also really long-lasting. I usually find that most of my (cheap ass) nailpolishes wear of rather quickly because I'm not very carefull with things, but this one lasts me for ages! I think it's really worth the price, OPI nailpolishes are amazing and have a great quality.
I normally always apply two coats of nailpolish and then use a topcoat, but being lazy as I am I just couldn't be annoyed to search for my topcoat, so I just applied two layers and it's fantastic! One layer could have been enough because it really doesn't have a transparent finish, but I just applied two coats to be sure it would look beautiful. It gets opaque after one layer though.

Do you own any OPI nail polishes? What's your favourite colour?

la roche-posay effaclar k

Excuse the bad quality of this picture, but I was in a hurry :)

I've always been on the hunt for that one skincare product that's just perfect for me. A product which I can use daily, without making my skin look too oily or too dry, and I think that I've finally found it.
When I went to the pharmacy when I was ill, la Roche-Posay immediately caught my eye. I've heard about the brand a few times but never really got round trying it. So, with my acne being quite bad at the time, I caved in and bought this gem.
On the cover it says that it's a 'renovative solution for people with oily skin', so you can imagine how eager I was for trying it out, since my skin can get quite oily at times.
I only have one conclusion: it's perfect. It moisturises my skin and makes a great base for my make up, it refines my pores and makes my skin feel so soft without making it too dry. It's hard to find a product which combines all of these 'essentials', if I can say so myself! My acne significantly reduced until the point I only got a few tiny spots left, so I can honestly say that I love this product.

Have you tried anything of la Roche-Posay yet? Is there any other skin care item you swear by?

clinique supermoisture makeup

So I ran out of my Chanel Perfection Lumière foundation the other day, and since I have got Wednesday afternoons off from school, I thought I should quickly hop into town to buy a new one! I firsted wanted to go for either Chanel Vitalumière Aqua or the Estée Lauder Double Wear Light ones, but after reading a few not-so-good reviews about them, I decided to ask the woman in the counter if she knew of a good foundation. She never asked for my skin type, so I didn't knew if I were to trust her, but know I'm glad I did!
She went to the Clinique stand and tried a few colours on my skin until we finally found a suitable colour for my skin tone. When I then saw that she chose an extremely moisturising foundation, I started panicking a bit because my skin can get very oily at times and I always stay far, far away from everything that will hydrate my skin. The minute she put the foundation on me however, I immediately saw that it was just perfect! It gives my skin a really nice glow and makes me feel all radiant and glowy.

Because I use a lot of drying products to prevent my skin from breaking out, my skin can get very dry at times. To compensate the dryness, my skin will produce a lot of oil during the day, so all those products I use don't really have any effect. I have learned now that using a good moisturiser/moisturising foundation will keep my skin in a better balance because it doesn't have to produce that much oil anymore and it also makes my skin look really shiny (but in a good way!) and radiant. It has quite a dewy finish and good coverage, which lasted me for a whole day!

I use it in nr. 04, Ivory, which is the palest pink shade they have. It says that it is suitable for very dry to dry combination skin, but don't let that put you off of buying it!It has got a sheer to moderate coverage rate and is really refreshing for your skin. As a lightweight foundation, it doesn't feel too heavy or cakey, and it lasts all day long!

What's your favourite foundation? Any 'holy grails' that you can't live without?

weekly wishlist #2

Bourjois Blush Pot in nr. 74 Rose Ambré, Michael Kors Cat Eye sunglasses, Miu Miu pink purse/wallet, H&M bag, YSL lipstick, L'Oréal Mythic Oil, The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter, Dorothy Perkins burgundy dress, River Island mix feather and chain earrings

Nothing special this week really, there aren't many clothes in the racks that I like, which is very rare for me! This week I've been really lusting over some beauty and make up products. However, since my lack of money/ a decent job I can't really afford them, but a girl can dream right ;)

001. I've wanted to try the little Bourjois blush pots for such a long time now, they are just too cute and the colours are also lovely! I also think that this colour will complement my skintone, so that's a plus. I've also heard that they are really long lasting, which I love since most of my blushers have a really weak lasting power!

002. I saw these Michael Kors sunglasses in Gemma's 'What's in my bag/purse' video (link!) and I immediately fell in love when I saw them! They are so lovely and I've been wanting some cat eye sunglasses for ages, and these seem like they have a really nice quality too. They are also not that expensive for a designer product, I just hope I can find a pair of them!

003. This Miu Miu purse is just so lovely and I really like the colour. It's a soft pink. I don't have much pink stuff, so this would be a nice addition to my wallet/purses collection! (not that I have that many, but okay haha). I also really like the bow detail.

004. I saw this bag in H&M when I was there last Saturday and I immediately wanted it! Sadly, I did not buy it (to to my for said lack of money), but the next time I'll go there I will definitaly buy it! At €20, it also isn't that expensive.

005. Okay, I'll admit that I only want this lipstick for it's pretty packaging! I've already bought another YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in the sales, where it was €15 instead of €30! Bargain. I really have a soft spot for gold/everything with beautiful packaging.

006. Do I need to say more? This one is, along with Moroccanoil, one of the most popular hair oils these days and I saw them all around the blogosphere, so this girl really wants to try it! It's a little bit expensive, but I heard it is so worth the price. My hair isn't really dead since I got it cut really short this week, but I would use this to keep it that way and make it all shiny and stuff.

007. This smells amazing! It's a little bit expensive for what it is though. I really think that The Body Shop has gone a little bit crazy with its prices!

008. Burgundy is such a nice colour, and I think this dress is perfect for my figure. I sadly don't have a Dorothy Perkins near me since I live in Belgium, so I need to look for another alternative. Any suggestions?

009. Last but not least, these earrings are just perfect for me! I've already said that I have a soft spot for gold, and combined with feathers these earrings will be a perfect addition to my jewellry collection. Definately gonna buy these when I'm in River Island!

In other news, I have ordered me some Liz Earle skin care products! Of course, the Hot Cloth cleanser, the toner and the moisturiser for normal/oily skin, since my skin can get very oily at times. I really can't contain my excitement, I'm so eager to find out what they will do to my skin since I've heard so many good things about Liz Earle! Have you tried any of their products yet? Hope you're all having a nice weekend! I'm gonna doe some of my coursework, and then I'm off to my boyfriend!

new haircut!

I'm sorry for the awful iPhone picture, but I got my hair cut today! I haven't had it cut properly in ages, and I really thought it was time for a little change. I got it cut to just-above-my-shoulder length, and I absolutely adore it! It also looks so much healthier again! I'm planning on keeping it this way and am not gonna let it get touched with any heat- except for my blowdryer, haha. Can't live without it, my hair seems to get greasy so much quicker when I let it dry by air!
I have a lot of homework to do for school and I also need to work on my thesis, blegh. School is keeping me from blogging properly! I also want to give my blog a total makeover, since I really dislike the layout of it, but I'm a complete dumbass when it comes to HTML, so I guess this will have to do for now.
I'm currently really into Fleet Foxes and Charlene Soraia! Such beautiful music.
Hope you're all having a fabulous Wednesday!

little bits and bobs!

Went on a little 'surprise' trip to IKEA yesterday evening, so you can imagine how much fun my night was! I love IKEA, especially going there in the evenings :) I bought some lovely new candles, a little white tin to put some off my stuff in (I don't now what yet, maybe some of my rings/nailpolish collection or something?), a cute little pink notebook (they also had it in dark blue and purple!), a new light for my room, a little white table, a lovely scented candle and some fake flowers! The Cath Kidston wild rose bodywash and bodylotion are also so lovely, I've had them since August now and I really don't want to use them since they're so lovely! I want the blue and green ones too!

Me and my parents have decided that I will keep on living in this house when I will go to uni in september, so I made them promise me that my room will get a make-over! I want two white walls and one floral wall, preferably with Cath Kidston wallpaper, but I really don't know which one to choose! I want everything of of the Cath Kidston site, the cushions look so comfortable and everything is just so pretty, I totally love floral print! I also want a new IKEA bed, but my mom wants me to keep this bed since it's only 6/7 years old (I don't think it's that young, but whatever). I didn't feel so good today either, I really hope these headaches will be over by tomorrow since they suck boo :( What have you done today? Hope you're all having a nice and cosy little Wednesday night! I'm gonna make myself a hot chocolate and watch some tv later on :)
